Your Voting Checklist

Three steps to make sure your vote counts.

1

Confirm Your Registration

Make sure you're registered to vote in Denton County. The registration deadline for this election has passed, but you can check your status now.

What you'll need at the polls:

  • Texas Driver's License or Personal ID Card
  • Texas Election ID Certificate (free from DPS)
  • Texas Handgun License
  • US Military ID with photo
  • US Citizenship Certificate with photo
  • US Passport (book or card)

Don't have photo ID? You can still vote — learn about alternatives.

2

Find Where to Vote

During early voting (May 18–22), you can vote at any of 45 Denton County Vote Centers. On Election Day (May 26), you must vote at your assigned precinct polling location — see the Election Day section below for details.

Early voting hours:

May 18–22 (Mon–Fri)7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Lines are typically shortest in the morning and mid-afternoon. Avoid the lunch rush and end-of-day.

3

Know Your Ballot

This is the primary runoff — only races where no candidate won an outright majority on March 3 appear on the ballot. Ask for the Democratic runoff ballot.

Important: If you voted in the Republican primary on March 3, you cannot vote in the Democratic runoff. Voters who voted Democratic in March — or didn't vote at all — can participate.

Election Day Voting — May 26

Polls are open 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM. Unlike early voting, Election Day locations depend on where you live.

Assigned Precinct Locations

On Election Day, Denton County does not use countywide vote centers for primary runoffs. You must go to your specific assigned precinct polling place.

Democratic and Republican runoffs are at separate locations. Make sure you look up the Democratic runoff location for your precinct.

Find Your Polling Place

Enter your information on the Denton County Elections website to find your assigned Election Day polling location for the Democratic runoff.

Don't know your precinct? The lookup tool will find it from your home address.
