Make Your Plan to Vote
Texas Democratic Primary Runoff — May 26, 2026
Your Voting Checklist
Three steps to make sure your vote counts.
Confirm Your Registration
Make sure you're registered to vote in Collin County. The registration deadline for this election has passed, but you can check your status now.
What you'll need at the polls:
- Texas Driver's License or Personal ID Card
- Texas Election ID Certificate (free from DPS)
- Texas Handgun License
- US Military ID with photo
- US Citizenship Certificate with photo
- US Passport (book or card)
Don't have photo ID? You can still vote — learn about alternatives.
Find Where to Vote
During early voting (May 18–22) and on Election Day (May 26), you can vote at any of 38 Collin County Vote Centers. See the Election Day section below for details.
Early voting hours:
| May 18–22 (Mon–Fri) | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM |
Lines are typically shortest in the morning and mid-afternoon. Avoid the lunch rush and end-of-day.
Know Your Ballot
This is the primary runoff — only races where no candidate won an outright majority on March 3 appear on the ballot. Ask for the Democratic runoff ballot.
Important: If you voted in the Republican primary on March 3, you cannot vote in the Democratic runoff. Voters who voted Democratic in March — or didn't vote at all — can participate.
Election Day Voting — May 26
Polls are open 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM. Collin County uses vote centers on Election Day — vote at any location.
Vote at Any Vote Center
Collin County uses countywide vote centers on Election Day, just like during early voting. You can go to any vote center in the county — you are not restricted to a specific precinct.
Both parties' runoffs use the same locations. Ask for the Democratic runoff ballot when you arrive.
Find a Vote Center
Use the Collin County polling location tool to find vote centers near you and check wait times.
Choose a vote center close to your home, work, or errands — any Collin County location will work.
